I am an expert at putting off stuff for a later time. I know I must get up and just start, but this is so hard I often just give up. Procrastination is a terrible thing! It is cumulative. At first you delay one small thing, then another, and before long you are so far behind that this mountain of obligations keeps you pinned to your recliner. This is true for tasks and decisions. Just get up and start – starting is the hard part. Once you get going momentum is your friend and will help you keep going. Just get up and do it!

It's too stinking hot,
it's too terribly cold,
and I am very, very tired
and probably too old!

This shit on my plate must be done!
this I've known for all too long,
but the bloody time
is always wrong!

It's Thursday again
and getting up is a strain.
Stuff begs to be done,
and the week is almost gone.

The time to do anything is not preset,
it's just our brain that's with laziness beset.
It makes us blind to the fact that we are bound
as the clock pushes time, round and round.

Excuses to not do or say or go,
is so easy to find, this I already know.
It's time to change my mood,
and seek excuses as to why I should!

Get up! Start moving! Be busy! Go do!
In the end it's real good for your world,
and you!

  1. I think I put the pro in procrastination. This is so very true
