I told someone earlier this week that once I was a crastinator, but have since become a pro. I have things to do, but I am also very fortunate to have time to waste. Of course wasting time is not good, but it is good when you can! Having downtime to kick back and relax, with so few concerns that you become bored. A boring life is not always a bad thing, it might just mean that everything is in place. Being bored all the time is not good, but being bored on occasion is fine. So right at this moment I am in a quiet bubble happily being bored. I’ll enjoy it while it last.
Even with music and movies on a smorgasbord
I sit here reclined and immensely bored.
Trips to the refrigerator no longer satisfy
there is nothing in there I am wanting to try.
My house is cool and comfortable,
and this time is mine to use or waste,
so now I am imitating a vegetable,
sprouting in place without particular haste.
This makes me see how fortunate I am
that my life is as boring as canned spam.
Like many others I could be full of fear
that the end of my resolve is very near.
For those who’s life is a constant struggle
with so many jobs and bills to juggle,
that having time to be bored
is a huge luxury they cannot afford.
So happily bored I will be
thankful that I have time that is free,
free for me to use or waste
and consider a trip to the kitchen,
later,
right now there is no haste.
