Freedom is not free. This is often said by politicians to defend their shameful sacrifice of young lives in wars. Any politician that engages in war is a failed politician in my book! I see that statement differently. To be free is not the same thing as having freedom! The freedom offered in society does not allow us to be completely free, just like free range chickens, we are free but inside a cage! Thank all the gods that my thoughts are still allowed to roam completely free, and that I can express some of it here!

We all want to be free, including me.
I am however not entirely sure what it means,
because freedom and free is not the same thing to me.

Freedom says you are allowed to be captive
to any vices or beliefs you might find attractive,
consuming your life and leaving you passive.

To be free is not that to me,
it simply means you have no ties to any lies
or things that conspire to compromise lives.

My plea is to live as free as I possibly can be
adhering to rules completely defined by me,
without the consuming fire the media desire
to install in me.

Free to live simple, without fear or quibble,
completely at peace, doing as I please
without causing anyone trouble or unease.

Sadly I might never be free to be completely me.
This world of laws only allow us the freedom to be
exactly like everyone else around us you see.

There is no being free in a world of freedom,
to all its boundaries you have to conform,
to avoid your world becoming a perpetual shitstorm.
