Sometimes I think the world is insane. Not the crazy loony bin variety that requires treatment and care, but something far worse.

Let me try to explain. These are just my thoughts and feelings about things that are supposedly important but never change. Doing the same shit expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Don’t judge me too harshly, these are just things I sometimes wonder about.

Consider war for a moment. History is filled with recounts of battles and wars fought on various fronts and about many different things. We know the things that cause war. We know the things that that war causes. It has been written about many times and many movies have been made for those of us that do not read history. All these works clearly show how awful war is. Yet we still provoke it, fund it and engage in it. This is insane!

Waste is another matter of concern. There is enough in the world for all of us. The number of people the planet can support is determined only by the balance between producing and consuming goods. There is little balance. Companies produce what marketing tells people they need, sometimes things go viral, with high demand and low supply. Many jump on the band wagon, eager to make a profit, resulting in oversupply. Here imbalance first made something valuable and then made it cheap. This imbalance is created by us, because it is profitable. This sort of make sense for gadgets, things that are nice to have but not necessary to survive, but the same thing happens with food. Companies estimate the demand for a product, produce that and then discard any excess. Here it is not a question of dwindling demand, there is plenty of hunger in the world. This is a matter of food for money. If you want to eat you must have money. This leftover food also can not be given away, folks will get wise and stop buying and wait for the freebee. Many companies also claim they are afraid of being sued if they give expired food away. These expiration dates are arbitrarily chosen, the expired food often still good! Surely companies can charge less and sell all of it? Throwing away perfectly good food when so many are hungry is insane.

Marriage is insane. Two people, often two young and inexperienced people meet and fall in love and get married. Promising to stay married for ever. Mostly they do not. This is hard on everybody, especially when there are children. I must admit that falling in love for me has always been just natures way of bringing a breeding pair together to ensure the species propagates. There has to be a different way. I propose that women live separately from men. The men can work and collectively support the women. The women that want to be mothers can have babies, from as many partners as they want. They can dedicate themselves to the children. These children raised and educated by both groups, the proverbial village. The women that want to work and not have kids can join the men. There will be men that do not want to work to support the women. The women can decide what to do with them. This arrangement will make work nothing more than a way to support others. No more status linked to what you do, just hours traded for product and services. This arrangement automatically make provision for gay and lesbian individuals. Now you can love many without feeling trapped and needing to cheat. Crazy idea I know, but maybe less insane than what we do today?

Work is nuts. Everybody gives part of their day in exchange for compensation. Some work themselves to death for little. Others work very little for the lions share. Some jobs are considered white collar, others blue collar. The fact is all work is a damn collar that ties us down. Some jobs are meaningless, bullshit even. Some jobs are considered beneath us, like cleaning chickens, other jobs are considered high brow, like being a doctor or a lawyer. The value of a person should not be their job but their contribution to society. This means a surgeon that transplants organs for millions of dollars a year is worth less than a chicken cleaner who picks up trash on the weekends. That surgeon is a revenue generator for himself and the hospital he is attached to, the chicken cleaner is simply a blessing. Getting rid of marriage and adopting my proposed alternative arrangement will solve this issue for good. We may even end up with shorter work days and longer weekends.

Mainstream media likes to talk about he top one percent and the bottom ninety nine. These top one percenters are often portrayed as super humans, the cream of society that should be respected and given privilege just because they have money. Admittingly some of them are indeed pioneers that moved the world along, but for this they should be thanked, their names added to the history books, monuments made in their image, and then they should be put in charge of many other pressing issues that need solutions. Solutions that better society and not to just make money and sell people more shit. One of these problems being poverty. It is insane how many people in the world today live on less than two dollars a day. Millions die from disease because they are too poor to have clean water. Children die from malnutrition while in other parts of the world we bulldoze food and unsold product into landfills. Absolutely insane!

Health care is named wrong, especially in the USA. It should be known as ‘Symptom management’. It is very profitable for people to remain unhealthy so that they will continue to buy expensive medicine to feel better. Health care in the USA is all about money, nothing more. If peoples health were really the only concern we would see huge campaigns against the major food suppliers that push all their processed crap on consumers. Lots of the shit sold in grocery stores can not honestly be called food anymore. These things were made by scientists, ultra processed, high in sugar, low in nutrition concoctions and often falsely marketed as natural or low sugar or low fat. Our food makes us sick and we buy more medicine to feel better. Health care is insane! Our food producers are criminals! Our government in bed with big business. Our governments are insane! This sounds like a huge money making scheme to me.

Money is the root of all evil. Let me change that just a little bit. The love of money is the root of all evil. Imagine if we can remove the need for money from society, and we find different ways to reward the efforts of those that contribute to society, those that make the world a better place. Maybe allow them more free time, more love making time in my utopia, spreading their genes to hopefully produce more brilliance.

Finally the last thing I want to mention because I am tired and I am afraid I might be called insane by some after all this ranting!

Politics is disgusting and attracts liars and charlatans. We have politics and politicians because of all the issues already discussed here, and many more I cannot even think of now. These politicians run for office promising utopia, freedom and less taxes and trouble. As soon as they are in office their true colors on full display. If we can find different ways to deal with these issues we can fire all the politicians. If we continue to do what we have always done, we will somehow vote for these lying fucks again and again, keeping them in power!

This is absolute insanity to me.
